The Officers and Members of IBM Ring 101 extend a friendly greeting and welcome to you as a prospective member of our Magic Ring. Please feel free to ask questions of any member of our Ring. Following our regular meeting, you will be invited to join us for our magic show. At that time, you will be introduced to the membership. Note that during the meeting, you will be asked to take a seat in a waiting room.

Here is some information to answer some of the questions you may have:

1. You must be a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians to be voted into our Ring. The cost to join the IBM is $65.00 the first year ($50 for Youth members), and $50.00 thereafter ($35 for Youth members). Applications will be given to you at your request. Local Ring dues are an additional $15.00 a year.

2. You must attend three (3) consecutive Ring magic shows that follow each business meeting before you decide to join our Ring. Should you decide to join, you will be asked to give a five (5) minute demonstration of your magic ability (unless you have already performed during at least one of your visits to our Ring). You will be given full support from all members, so don't let this unnerve you. Don't think you have to be a great performer to join.

3. We recognize that different people have different interests and motivations for becoming a member. For instance, if the history of magic interests you, then you could share your interests with the Ring via lectures on a historical magic topics. Creativity in this area is invited and encouraged.

4. Upon acceptance into our Ring, you will take an initiation oath as outlined in the Constitution of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

5. At this time you will be given a copy of our constitution, the by-laws that govern our organization, and a roster of our membership.

6. Naturally, you will be expected to participate at business meetings and to support club functions.

7. We are all from different walks of life, but our common bond is our keen interest and love of the art of magic. A sincere and genuine interest in magic is the only prerequisite to join our Ring.

8. Officers of our Ring will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Their names and e-mail addresses are listed on our home page.

9. The minimum age requirement for members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and our Ring is 10 years old. You must be 18 years old to be a voting member.

10. Additional information about the IBM can be found on the official web site of the IBM, located at http://www.magician.org

11. Additional information about Ring 101 can be found on our web site, located at http://www.ring101.org

12. Our regular meetings are held at the Elks Club in Utica, NY on the first Wednesday of each month (except July and August).
